Featuring on today’s NATURAL – Mabel
While trekking down the street of one of the minor roads in Awka, Anambra State, I walked pass a young girl who was at the other side of the road. Immediately, I got attracted to her (I really don’t know why, but, the girls that I frequently get attracted to are usually natural).
I crossed over and began to follow her at her back – imagine I followed her into the pharmacy she went to. When I got to finally say Hi, Mabel was very surprised – the surprise was basically because I was a girl and I approached her in this manner “Good evening, my name is Somto. I saw you walk pass me and I decided to follow you (at this point, Mabel was really anxious). Well, I feature Natural girls and obviously you don’t apply makeup and that was why I followed you – now, she became relaxed”.
One thing I observed about Mabel (a 100level Electrical Engineering student of UNIZIK) was that she has great passion for staying Natural and she was really happy with my little effort of trying to encourage young girls to stay original. Read what she said;
Name: Chigbo Mabel
Religion: Christianity
State of Origin: Ebonyi State
Likes: Reading, traveling and watching movies.
Dislikes: Stealing and quarreling
Who influenced you in being Natural?: No one influenced me. It was a personal decision. Well, my elder sister is also a NATURAL(she doesn’t apply make-up).
Reason you stay Natural: I just love been natural because the time wasted in applying make- up can be used for some other positive things.
Your advice to other young girls: My word of advice to other young girls is that, being natural is very good, and while natural, you also look very beautiful.
Makeup doesn’t make you a big girl. First things first! As a young girl, you should face your education and avoid distractions (makeup is a form of distraction for young girls, so I encourage you to avoid it)
