What is OPEC SPECIAL FUND?
In 1976, OPEC decided to set-up a special fund. The fund which was established solely for the benefit of non-OPEC members is aimed at providing soft loans to developing countries.
The administration of the fund is in the hands of a governing committee, to be headed by a chairman and director-general, as well as executing national agency in each contributing country.
