Job Description/Requirements

Job Responsibilities: 

• Represent the voice of Daikin advocacy with national energy policy authorities
• Map the Market authorities responsible for the formulation of Minimum Energy policies in  West Africa 
• Build and maintain a good relationship with notified bodies, standardization bodies,  government bodies by scheduling regular visits 
• Seek to obtain early involvement in the draft of new regulations in the region
• Participate in technical meetings with regulatory bodies and prepare supporting documents 
• Make proactive proposals for legislations to notified bodies, standardization bodies and  government bodies  
• Interact with authorities and academia to initiate inverter demonstration testing and impact studies on the society, economy and the environment. 
• Interact with the factories and internal departments and explain the new regulations in the  focus markets 
• Support with the interpretation of new market regulations affecting Daikin local business 
• Facilitate the local preparation for Daikin Africa Konwakai
• Coverage of the above responsibilities for the West Africa region with a primary focus on  Nigeria and Ghana.

Job Requirements: 

Experience & Knowledge:

• Minimum 3 years of experience with government/standard relations in Africa
• Experience in negotiations with various parties  
• Experience in analyzing standards and regulations 
• Existing network with policymakers in Africa 

Education: 

• Engineering or Economy Bachelor of Science degree  

Skills: 

• Strong negotiation and coordination skills 
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 
• Good written and spoken English, French is a plus 
• Proficient with standard Microsoft tools (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
