MDNI Farms is a Meat Goat Breeding Operation. Our focus is on Breeding Full Blood Boer and Kalahari Red Goat. We aim at breeding animals with perfect Genetics, high fertility rates, and excellent mothering abilities. In this engaging new opportunity, as part of a result-driven team and reporting to the CEO. As the Farm Manager of MDNI Farms, you will contribute by building and implementing animal husbandry strategies in breeding, nutrition and record-keeping that support our livestock breeding operations in Nigeria. This Farm Manager shall support the execution of MDNI Farms breeding strategies and contributes to business results by supporting the leadership in the delivery of safe, reliable operations. Fostering a productive and engaged workforce and supporting the day-to-day operations of MDNI Farms. The farm manager’s responsibilities will include monitoring staff, crops, and livestock, purchasing supplies, preparing budgets and reports, and ensuring maximum profit. He should be able to maintain professional networks and keep abreast of developments in agricultural science. The successful candidate MUST be detail-oriented whilst keeping the bigger picture in mind. Our ideal candidates MUST be a keen problem solver who is focused on efficiency and yet take a hands-on approach towards our farm’s management.

Job Description/Requirements

You will use your expertise in:

• Analyzing existing operations, livestock, staff, and financial documents and recommending improvements.
• Preparing plans and schedules for feeding, breeding, and kidding and ensuring staff understands expectations.
• Visiting the different divisions to inspect livestock, crops and perform routine vaccination schedules.
• Ensuring minerals, supplements, pesticides, and other supplies are regularly restocked.
• Scheduling repairs, maintenance, and replacement of equipment and machinery as may be required
• Handling the marketing and sale of products produced on the farm like goat kids, poultry, dairy, meat, and feeds.
• Ensuring all staff adheres to health and safety regulations.
• Assisting with the recruitment and training of new staff members.
• Collaborating with senior staff to prepare budgets and financial reports.
• Building professional networks and keeping abreast of developments in agricultural science.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, animal science, or equivalent.
• Additional courses in business management or administration are recommended.
• Extensive experience in a farming-related field.
• Management experience would be a plus.
• A passion for agriculture.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
• The ability to make decisions in stressful environments.
• Superb communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to work overtime as required.
