Job Summary

Swift Networks Limited is a facilities-based telecommunications services provider. The company was founded in 2002, since its inception, Swift Networks has invested heavily in “next generation” networking technologies to build a multi-service network platform. Due to rapid expansion, we are looking for a qualified candidate to fill a creative technical position as we hope to maintain our status as the leading broadband connectivity services provider in Nigeria. Uniquely, the work environment offers a first-class condition with a very attractive remuneration package. The job holder must have a Bachelor’s Degree 2nd Class Honors (Upper Division) in an Engineering discipline or any other Computer related field. A minimum of 5 years post qualification experience on a similar job function. Telecoms experience will be an added advantage.

Job Description/Requirements

Principal Accountabilities:

• Establish the networking environment by designing system configuration, directing system installation and defining, documenting and enforcing system standards.
• Design and implement new solutions and improve the resilience of the current environment.
• Maximize network performance by monitoring performance, troubleshooting network problems and outages, scheduling upgrades and collaborating with network architects on network optimization.
• Undertake data network fault investigations in local and wide-area environments using information from multiple sources.
• Secure network systems by establishing and enforcing policies, and defining and monitoring access.
• Report network operational status by gathering and prioritizing information and managing projects.
• Upgrade data network equipment to the latest stable firmware releases.
• Configure routing and switching equipment, hosted IP voice services and firewalls.
• Provide remote support to on-site engineers and end users/customers during installation.
• Provide remote troubleshooting and fault finding if issues occur upon initial installation.
• Liaise with third-party vendors and third-line engineers as the case may be. 

Skills and Competencies:

• Cisco Certification Program – available at entry (CCENT), associate, (CCNA), professional (CCNP).
• CompTIA Certifications – including CompTIA A+ and CompTIA Network+.
• Microsoft Certifications – including Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) and the higher-level Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE).
• Proven experience and success with LAN, WAN, WLAN, and WWAN design and implementation.
• Proven experience with network capacity planning, network security principles, and general network management best practices.
• Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills. 
• Able to conduct research into networking issues and products as required. 
• Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language. 
• Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail.
