Gunmen Kill Olaleye Ajibola, Ibadan Socialite
Gunmen suspected to be armed robbers have killed an Ibadan-based socialite, Olaleye Ajibola, popularly called Gatuso.
Ajibola was shot dead on Saturday by at the Town House Hotel, owned by a prominent politician in Oyo State, IgbereTV reports.
The deceased was said to be planning to propose to his girlfriend on Sunday, January 24.
IgbereTV gathered that the victim arrived at the hotel with some of his friends when he ran into the robbers, who were fleeing after stealing valuables belonging to employees and guests.The gunmen sighted Ajibola making a call and shot him at a close range.
Spokesperson of the Oyo State Police Command, Olugbenga Fadeyi, who confirmed the incident said the gunmen had arrived the hotel pretending to be guests.
He said;
“Teslim Akinpelu, aka Gatuso, was shot dead by four armed men at Town Hotel, NTC, Iyaganku, around 12.45am. The gunmen pretended to be lodgers before carrying out their evil intention.” he said.
Ajibola’s body had since been deposited in the mortuary.
