Austrian born goalkeeper Tobias Lawal wants to play for Nigeria
Gernot Rohr says Austrian born goalkeeper Tobias Lawal is interested in playing for Nigeria, but he must wait for his opportunity.
Tobias Lawal who has played for the European nation at the U-20 level is currently in the Super Eagles camp for the friendly matches with Algeria and Tunisia.
While feeding questions on the LASK Linz’s goalkeeper chances of making his debut against the North Africans, Rohr said the LASK Linz goalkeeper does not have a Nigerian passport and it was difficult to get one for him at the moment.
Rohr also confirmed that the 20-year-old goalkeeper is has a future with the team.
“He played for Austria U20, he can switch. But there’s a problem with obtaining him a passport in Austria.
“He won’t be playing in the games. But he’s interested in switching. He asked to check out the atmosphere in camp. He’s only 20, has a good future” he said.
