Job Description/Requirements

Job Description/Key responsibilities:

• Conducting market intelligence on competition and information gathering for product development.
• Developing new products and reviewing the offering of the existing ones.
• Formulating and executing business development and sales strategies for the Credit department 
• Leading with high ethical standards in the booking of quality credits to surpass stated targets.
• Attending meetings with Relationship Officers to structure appropriate facilities for customers.
• Monitoring Risk Asset Portfolio and ensuring adherence to the regulatory standards.
• Preparing and submitting credit reports to management of the company and regulators in a timely manner. 
•  Contributing to asset and liability generation.
• Adhering to credit policy and guidelines of the company. 
• Organizing in house training for staff from time to time.

Overall Objectives:

• To provide efficient and effective leadership for the Credit department of the company.
• To contribute to the profitability of the Company through the booking of quality credits in accordance with the policies of the Company and regulatory bodies.

Education and Qualification:

• Bachelor’s degree or HND in any numerate discipline.
• Master degree or recognized professional qualification(s) would be an added advantage
• 7 years and above credit analysis and administration experience in the banking sector or non-bank financial institutions. 
• Not more than 45 years of age at the last birthdate.

Skills and Person Specifications:

• Excellent written and oral communication skills. 
• Strong math aptitude, organizational and analytical skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to go the extra mile and deliver on deadlines
• Decision oriented with the ability to support with sound reasoning and logic
• Computer literate; fluency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Experience with the use of credit administration or other banking application software
