The candidate will Lead the origination, structuring and execution of Project & Structured Finance transactions as well as manage client relationships, Manage all aspects of debts and their related issuers by developing and implementing an effective framework and strategy that ensures prompt workout and recovery of classified assets as well provide thought leadership in bond finance matters.

Job Description/Requirements

Accountabilities/ Responsibilities:

• Originate new Projects & Structured Finance transactions. 
• Effective management of client relationships and business networks 
• In-depth market knowledge
• Subject matter experience in selected sectors including but not limited to power, oil & gas, FMCG and ICT 
• Identify business opportunities for clients by understanding their finances, business strategies, capital structure, industry, and capital markets dynamics
• Ensure high-quality execution of transactions and timely collection of fees
• Build and maintain credibility and trust with Senior Executives and Boards of Companies
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory and corporate governance responsibilities as well as risk thresholds 
• Ensure, and if need be, develop new systems, procedures, controls that are adequate for business solutions/deals
• Maintain adequate communication of performance and activities to relevant stakeholders
• Manage business profitability effectively
• Proactively identify opportunities for more comprehensive marketing and cross-selling opportunities that would be beneficial to the Group through extensive collaboration with relevant stakeholders within the Group
• Manage and motivate a team of skilled Investment bankers from junior to middle management
• Build relationships within the company’s Group (Corporate Banking, Treasury, Commercial Banking), CSL, FCAM, the company’s UK group)
• Formulating and implementing policies and strategies for effective workout and recovery of classified debts
• Presenting periodic reports to the credit committee on loan workout and recovery efforts workout and recovery efforts
• Providing advice on charge-offs/write-offs and implications on profitability 
• Conducting research on credit ratings and debt policies; preparing quantitative analyses and written reports to support recommendations.
• Participating in the selection of underwriters, counsel, and financial advisors
• Assist in monitoring the level of provisions to ensure adequacy.
• Overseeing the AMCON Portfolio
• Performing related assignments or special projects as required

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:

• A minimum of first degree or its equivalent in any discipline (additional qualification or degree in any business-related discipline would be an advantage)
• A minimum of 10 years post qualification experience, out of which, at least, seven (7) must have been in the relevant areas of the job
• Track record of execution and post-execution tracking

• Qualifications should include an MBA, a Masters in Finance or ACCA
