Hotel Refuses Heartland Team Exit From Katsina Over Debt

The entire Heartland football club have been denied exit from their hotel base in Katsina day after playing their first 2020/21 season match of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) versus Katsina United.

A football official who disclosed this on Tuesday morning, and preferred to lie low wrote on whatsapp, social media platform, “Heartland fc have been held at their hotel (Fadama view hotel) here in Katsina after owing the hotel management.”

The current incident is happening after the management of the Imo state-owned football team owed players and officials months of salary.

As at the time of filing this report, the club was yet to make any official statement.

Heartland had lost opening day NPFL game 3-2 in Katsina.
