Reekado Banks is perhaps one of the most underappreciated artists in the industry today.

Since his 2016 debut, he has not been able to keep steady with his releases and his relevance continued to wane into 2019. He still could not pull up with any project, because it wasn’t certain people were gonna listen.

In 2019, he made one hit, though. The hit song “Rora” was what he thought would carry his 2020 EP, “Off The Record.” It didn’t work. Not really.

Reekado Banks didn’t stop though; he kept going. Until this year when he snagged a lucky hit in “Ozumba Mbadiwe.” But it wasn’t really lucky. There was one touch in that song that made it what it is, and that touch comes from none other but P.priime.

The young producer who came to the limelight after working on Olamide’s “Carpe Diem,” worked his magic again. What Priime did was infuse some hard percussions on some afrobeat and keep the drums rolling. He did that on “Ozumba Mbadiwe,” and with Reeky’s style, it fits. Boom, we had hit.

That was enough hit for Reekado Banks to push a new EP as a matter of fact. But it wouldn’t be wise to not keep Priime in the loop. Besides “Ozumba Mbadiwe” which made it to the EP, headed another P.priime song that is beginning to make waves already.

The track in question is “Lupita Nyongo,” a track that exploits the same percussive elements that made “Ozumba Mbadiwe” prevail. And, this just might be Reekado Banks’ next hit.

It is no surprise that even though other songs on the EP are good, they’re not getting talked about like the ones P.priime is on, and that’s because the young Priime knows what he’s doing.

Although we won’t know for sure until later, I think P.priime may have revived Reekado’s ailing career. This is one of those times when producers don’t get enough credit.
