Our Company, Royal Exchange Healthcare Limited (HMO) based in Oshodi Lagos seeks to employ an experienced Account Officer.

Job Description/Requirements

The officer will be responsible for the activities listed below: 

  • Ensure day-to-day account payable transactions are timely recorded, documented, reviewed and supported per company policies and controls. 
  • Identify invoice errors or discrepancies and resolve them before processing.
  • Verify vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements.
  • Perform month-end closing activities including expense accruals, prepayments, journal entries with supporting schedules/analysis.  
  • Prepare monthly reconciliation of payables-related general ledger accounts.
  • Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly and annual schedules, and internal and external reporting requirements.  
  • Prepare payment schedules based on approved Claims and update schedules of approved outstanding claims.
  • Properly post all bank transactions on time.
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliation statements for each region. 
  • Identify and resolve any outstanding account balances, including communications with vendors and internal stakeholders.  
  • Assist in preparing responses to periodic requests for information from Group and External auditors.  
  • Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately per company policy and legal requirements. 
  • Assist with monthly computation of Fixed Deposits; prepare and post monthly Investment journals. 
  • Prepare monthly expense analysis versus budget, and communicate changes to the budget. 
  • Prepare monthly Intercompany reconciliation and follow up with the respective subsidiaries on all outstanding payables and receivables for timely receipt and payment of funds.
  • Assist with monthly payroll preparations and journal posting. 
  • Assist with timely statutory filing, e.g. VAT, WHT, PAYE, Union dues, Pension Fund, etc. and other deductions. 
  • Liaise with the external auditors, tax and statutory authorities on audit processes. 
  • Assist on special projects as directed by the head of the department.  
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned.

Qualification:

  • No less than two years of experience.
  • Chartered qualification would be an added advantage.
